Legacy Christian Church

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Bill grew up in the Beargrass Christian Church. He has an A.B. from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky, an M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky, and a D.Min. from Kingsway Theological Seminary in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bill is married to Nancy and they have seven adult children and 13 grandchildren.

He has served Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Churches in Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois and Ohio. He has been serving as the Lead Minister at Legacy Christian Church of Harrison, Ohio, since 1991. During his tenure the church’s membership has more than tripled and worship attendance has grown by over 500%. With an average worship attendance of 400+, the church is noted for having 300 people participating in weekly small groups and 295 people involved in the ministries of the church.,

Bill has volunteered as a certified Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Tech for over 20 years and worked in both adult and juvenile correctional facilities.

Bill has published four books and written numerous articles in several professional journals. His book on church transformation, Renew Your Congregation; Healing the Sick and Raising the Dead, was published by Chalice Press in 2008.

Bill is recognized as one of America’s leading authorities on church transformation. He has served on the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) National Transformation Team and presently serves on the Ohio Regional Transformation Team. Bill is also a member of the National Evangelistic Association’s Board of Directors and serves the organization at the Administrator. He is a Ministry Associate with the Columbia Partnership.

He is a frequent Church Leadership Retreat leader and speaks at several Church Transformation Events each year. Bill is a Church Consultant and a Church Leadership Coach.
